Reflecting Pool
Without perspective, we move through life seeing, , reacting, without the benefit of understanding all the angles. As a mother, wife, women, American, U.S. citizen living aboard, I’m search for my reflecting pool, to peer in and see my own in a swirl of existence. Join me from time to time as I deconstruct, ponder, philosophize life. As special as we all want to be the common thread of humanity that binds us all together is the simplicity of life. Consider this blog a call to fellow contemplative souls, my sisters as it were. Of course, I’m not discounting the modern-day Karl Jaspers’ amongst our ranks; rather I think of myself and possible readership as kindred spirits following the raging flame of Virginia Woolf. She did seek to define human existence. No she asked, what is the point of existence as an extension of man, husband, father. To clarify, I’m not a philosopher, novice or otherwise. Instead, I embrace the notion of freethinking, pragmatic intellectualism. Let us strip away the façade of circumstance, the falsity of fate, and what is left? Gender identity, culturally enforced norms, and the gilded-cage of our own making, cemented in habit-built routines.
In this digital community, we have the power to share, discuss, and to some degree create our reality, both personal and on the community level. Cyberspace is a hearth waiting for us to seize power and lay our thoughts upon it. How can we refuse? I call to my sisters, join me in my reflecting pool, under the rainbow of human interaction 2.0, life in the cyber age.
